I have two daughters; Clare Wambui and Clara Waithera. They developed a deformity known as Scoliosis Spinal Deformity which was deteriorating every day. After seeking treatment here in Kenya in vain, we managed to get a doctor in India who told us that a surgery had to be done.
In December 2010, we managed to go to India with my two daughters for this operation. My elder daughter Clare was to be the first one to go to theater which lasted for 12 hours and was still to go for a next one for 6 hours. This first operation was successful but before she could go on with the next one the Good Lord took her home. I had to come back home in Kenya to lay her to rest so the small one was given a Spinal Corrective Jacket to be using for the time being. She was to go back to India afterwards for the operation.
It was in this duration that a good friend of mine told me about the Vincentian Prayer House and I remember so clearly what she said “Go to Vincentian Prayer House Maureen, and ask the Lord to give your daughter another Spine. If cars made by men has spare parts what about our Creator? What can’t He give us if we ask in faith?” And so in the month of March, I started attending the Saturday prayer service continuously. One of the Priest in the prayer house gave me some Bible verses to read daily for three months.
After I was through reading the Bible Verses, I attended an inner healing retreat in June. During the second day of the retreat, when adoration of the Holy Eucharist was going on the Priest announced that the Lord was giving a new Spine to a young child who is suffering very much and immediately I claimed the healing for my daughter and my whole body was burning! I knew there and then that she was being healed. The healing started and the following day she was even able to accompany me to Vincentian Retreat Center, Thika.
I testified of this and the whole congregation knelt before the Lord thanking Him for this wonderful gift of a new Spine! she no longer uses the corrective jacket and every day the Spine is straitening. My Jesus is able and with Him everything is possible.
“……..and by His wounds, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
